Writing

I'm not a professional writer but I play one here on my website. I enjoy the creative process of crafting thoughts into blog posts, papers and e-books.

Blogs

About a decade ago I was first introduced to the concept of blogging via a web based service called Blogger. I started writing content on the internet and really enjoyed the fact that thoughts, ideas, opinions, etc. could be shared with much of the world with a flourish of keystrokes and the click of a mouse. Since that time blogs have become a wildly popular way for individuals and organizations to express themselves and build community. Love 'em or hate 'em. Blogs are here to stay. In my spare time I manage a few blogs, posting as my personal time allows.

  • Personal Blog - is a place where I write about all sorts of things that are personal in nature.
  • Thrive in the Hive - is a career-focused blog and the natural companion to my book, Welcome To The Beehive.

Welcome To The Beehive

Welcome To The Beehive A few years ago (circa 2004) I decided to start writing what I hoped would become a complete book. I don't consider myself a professional writer but I do consider myself a creative person and putting thoughts in my head down on paper (or in this case onto my computer) is a creative process. I decided to write about getting started in the world of business. Over the course of several months, while criss-crossing North America on long business flights, I wrote a book that I call Welcome To The Beehive.

One of the first questions that comes to people's minds when they learn that I wrote this book is, "What do you think you know about business?" I'll admit that I'm not an expert in the field of business, whatever that means. But I do have a point of view. I know that challenges that I've faced over the years. I know what I've done to address those challenges. Up to now (knock on wood) I've been successful enough that I've been able to stay constantly employed while achieving many of my personal goals. So I decided to share my point of view and experiences with the world.
