Mia's Summer

Juliet and Mia are now at the town pool. It will be their last visit for the summer of 2009. Mia will start her second year of nursery school in a couple of weeks. Since we moved in the middle of the summer last year Mia didn't have a chance to spend too much time experiencing life in the Albany area. The town pool, which is very nice, was a big destination even though it has been pretty cool for most of the summer. Mia has also come to love the museum in downtown Albany that Grandma Nancy takes her to. Mom brings her to local farmers markets and garage sales. Aunt Diane has paid pretty frequent visits and Mia has loved visiting Diane's kitty cats. Grandma Pat has come up for a couple of visits and also hosted us for a short city vacation recently.

Mia has also come into her own as a big sister. Now that Rosetta is walking and can take part in more things there are a lot more hugs and very cute moments between them. They are partners in crime, sitting side by side now and both facing forward in their car seats. Rosetta even calls for Mia in the morning, shouting up the stairs, "Eeeeya, eeeeya." Its all very cute.

More recently Mia has become acquainted with the Wizard of Oz so she loves playing make believe Wizard of Oz characters. Daddy plays the role of Tin Man, Scarecrow and Cowardly Lion. She may even be Dorothy for Halloween this year.

Summer isn't over just yet. But I think that when it does end Mia will be happy with all the fun things she has done and all of the new experiences she has had in her first full summer in Albany.
